To secure your tickets in advance, you can book online via the official IRCTC website when the booking window is open. Visit: www.heliyatra.irtct.co.in
All passengers must carry valid photo identification. Biometric registration and a medical checkup are mandatory during check-in. Medical checkups can be done at Phata and Sonprayag, while biometric registration is available at Phata, Sonprayag, and Kedarnath Top.
For same-day return passengers, a two-hour duration is allocated for darshan. To ensure completing the darshan within this time frame, passengers are advised to purchase the Shri Kedarnath Ji Mandir Samiti’s priority darshan slip. These slips, available at the helipads, cost approximately Rs. 2,500 per yatri, and the full payment goes to Shri Kedarnath Ji Mandir Samiti.
Each passenger is allowed one handbag weighing a maximum of 5 kgs.
Upon landing at Kedarnath helipad, it's a short 500-meter walk to reach the Shri Kedarnath Ji temple. Palanquins and porters are also available. As Kedarnath Ji is situated at an altitude of 11,500 feet, please review the high altitude advisory and guidelines.
Chardham by Charter provides basic accommodation at Kedarnath. Accommodation will be on a sharing basis. Per Person cost INR2500- 3000 Per Bed with Breakfast and dinner.
Due to the high altitude of 11,500 ft, visitors may experience extreme cold, low humidity, increased UV radiation, reduced air pressure, and oxygen levels. It's crucial to be cautious of high altitude sicknesses and their symptoms.

- Wear suitable attire like salwar kameez, pant-shirt, or a tracksuit.
- Carry spare clothes and essentials in a waterproof bag.

- Stop at marked warning spots.
- Wear slippers; only trekking shoes with laces are recommended.
- Attempt shortcuts; follow the designated route.
- Trek alone; always stay in a group.
- The Kedarnath temple opens on Akshaya Tritiya in May and closes after Deepawali in November each year.
- Booking for Kedarnath starts in February every year.
- Necessary documents include valid photo identification, a medical checkup, and biometric registration at check-in.
- The helipad is located in Sersi village, 22 km from Guptkashi and 7 km after Phata village.
- Biometric registration and medical checkups can be done at Phata and Sonprayag.
At Sersi, networks like Airtel, Vodafone, Jio, and BSNL work, although data services may be limited. At Kedarnath, only BSNL network functions, with limited reliability. A public announcement (PA) system is available near the Kedarnath temple.
- Pre-monsoon season (May-June): Sunny days with temperatures around 20-30 degrees Celsius during the day and pleasant nights.
- Post-monsoon season (Sep-Oct): Pleasant temperatures during the day, dropping to 10-20 degrees Celsius at night, but colder temperatures may prevail at Kedarnath. Prepare for cold weather during these months.
